Its position in Phra Nakhon puts temples, palaces and museums close by, and the streets are quieter in the early morning than in the evening, when the food stalls fill up. The property sits on Chao Fa Road in the Chana Songkhram district.

Khaosan Road is 500 m from the property, and the Grand Palace, with the Temple of the Emerald Buddha inside its walls, is 1.1 km away. Wat Arun lies across the river at 1.9 km, and the Bangkok National Museum, which shows Thai art and history, is about 200 m off. The Phra Pin Klao Pier is 250 m away.

A day could start at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, then cross the river by boat to Wat Arun before returning to the Khaosan area for the evening. For a longer day out, the Chatuchak Weekend Market is a trip across town, and it is mainly a weekend market. Wat Pho, with its reclining Buddha, is also within the old city, so the Grand Palace and Wat Pho can be seen in a single morning by walking between them.
