The House Hostel

The rooms at The House Hostel measure between 12 and 15 m², and the beds run from queen and king beds to single beds in the family and triple rooms. Some rooms have a private bathroom, while others share a bathroom or toilet, and some have a city view.

The neighbourhood has older streets and temples, and by day it fills with street-food stalls and travellers heading out to the old city's sights. In the evening the area gets busier, with the energy of the backpacker crowd, which keeps the area busy after dark.

Khao San Road is 250 m away, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) and the Grand Palace lie 1.2 km and 1.4 km away, where the royal temples of the old city are concentrated. Across the river, Wat Arun is 2.1 km away, and Sam Yot MRT station is 1.7 km away for trips on the metro.

A good day here starts early at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, continues by river ferry to Wat Arun, and ends back on Khao San Road in the evening. The Bangkok National Museum, a short walk from the hostel, adds a quieter stop, while the Chatuchak Weekend Market is a longer journey across the city and is best planned as a separate outing.
