The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) lies 1.1 km away, and The Grand Palace, which shares its grounds with the temple, is 1.3 km away. Wat Phra Chetuphon, known as Wat Pho for its giant reclining Buddha, is a short walk further on, and Wat Arun stands on the opposite bank of the Chao Phraya river. The Bangkok National Museum, housed in a former palace complex, is also close.

A good day here can start at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, continue to Wat Pho and end with a river crossing to Wat Arun. The Phra Arthit ferry terminal is 600 m away on the river, and in the evening Khao San Road is a natural place to finish, with its street food stalls and crowds, and the Bangkok National Museum sits within an easy walk of the temples.
