The Base Central Condominium

The rooms have an open kitchen with cooking utensils and tableware, along with air conditioning, a washing machine and a microwave. Each sleeps up to three guests.

Guests can cook in the room, and the Central Festival shopping centre is a few hundred metres away for shopping and dining out in the evening.

The property has a swimming pool, a gym, a garden and a sky garden, and a lift serves the building.

Parking is on site, and internet access is available in public areas. Express check-in and check-out is available, and the property has 24-hour security.

A vending machine is on site, and a 7 Eleven convenience store is 650 m away, with an ATM 300 m away, so small purchases can be made close by. Breakfast is not included in the rate.

The Base Central Condominium is on Chao Fat Tawan Tok Road in Wichit, part of Phuket Town, the provincial capital of the island. The area has the Sino-Portuguese shophouses of the old town and a strong Chinese and Peranakan heritage, and it feels like a working town rather than a beach resort. Shops, cafés and markets are close at hand, and the beaches of the west coast are a drive away.

Central Festival, a large shopping centre, is a few hundred metres away, and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), one of the island's best-known temples, is 5.6 km away. The Big Buddha, a hilltop statue with views across the island, is 8.9 km away, and Patong Beach, with its bars and restaurants, is 7.6 km away. Phuket International Airport is 25.5 km away.

A day could start with a walk through the old town's Sino-Portuguese streets, a visit to the Peranakan Museum and to Baan Chinpracha, a Sino-Portuguese house museum, and then continue to Wat Chalong before the Big Buddha. Phuket Town Local Bus Station is 3.5 km away for travel to other parts of the island. Phuket Town also makes a practical starting point for a day that mixes temples, museums and a stop at the beach.
