The UNESCO World Heritage ruins of the Historic City of Ayutthaya are spread across the old city, and Wat Mahathat, with its famous Buddha head among tree roots, is one of the best-known sites. The Ayutthaya Historical Study Centre, the Thai Boat Museum and the Ayutthaya National Art Museum are all nearby for a look at the city's history.

For longer journeys, Ayutthaya Train Station is 950 m away, while Don Mueang International Airport is 48.8 km away. A good day here starts with the temples on foot and continues with the Ayothaya Floating Market & Elephant Village, 2 km away, which combines a floating market with elephants.
