The ferry pier is 1.9 km from the hostel, and Top of the rock is a viewpoint 850 m away. Ao Tanote Beach is another bay on the island's coast, and the Sairee area also has a 7 Eleven, a pharmacy and cash machines close by, so the basics are easy to find.

Diving is the obvious day out here, and the dive shops along Sairee take groups out to the reefs around the island. Koh Nang Yuan, a small island with a viewpoint of its own, is a common trip by boat from Ko Tao. Back in Sairee, the beach strip is the easiest place to end the day, with the bars and the tacos of the hostel's own restaurant close at hand.
