Kalim Beach, another stretch of sand, is 1.7 km away, and Big Buddha Phuket, the large seated statue on Nakkerd Hills, is 7.9 km away by road, a short drive rather than a walk.

A good day here combines the sand at Patong with an afternoon at Big Buddha, followed by an evening walk down to Bangla Road for the street life. Phuket Old Town, with its Sino-Portuguese shophouses, is a separate trip from Patong, and Phuket FantaSea, the theme park and show venue, is also in the area for a different kind of night out.
