Phloen Chit BTS Station is 500 m away and Nana BTS Station is 750 m, both on the Sukhumvit line, so the Skytrain is the simplest way to reach the rest of the city. Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre, and MBK Center are both in the Siam shopping area, and Jim Thompson House, a teak house museum linked to the American silk pioneer Jim Thompson, is 2.5 km away. The Grand Palace in the old city is 6.3 km away, and Wat Arun stands on the opposite bank of the Chao Phraya.

A day out could begin with the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, then head back on the Skytrain for an afternoon around Siam. At weekends, Chatuchak Weekend Market, 6.8 km away, is a full day out, with a huge range of stalls spread across its lanes, and it makes a good contrast with the polished malls of the Siam area.
