Patong Beach is about 800 m away. Jungceylon Shopping Center and Bangla Road are both about 1.6 km away: Jungceylon is one of the larger shopping centres in town, while Bangla Road is the street known for its bars and clubs. Karon Beach is the next bay along from Patong, and Chaithararam Temple, known locally as Wat Chalong, is one of the best-known Buddhist temples on the island.

A good day here can start with a walk along Patong Beach, continue with a visit to Wat Chalong, about 6 km away, and end with an evening on Bangla Road. Big Buddha Phuket, a large Buddha statue on a hilltop, is another stop for a day out. Phuket FantaSea, a theme park with an evening cultural show, is a longer trip out for those who want a different kind of evening.
