Studio Ekamai is on Sukhumvit Road in the Ekkamai area of eastern Bangkok, a busy part of the city where the side streets, known as sois, are full of local life. Sukhumvit is a long, busy avenue that runs through much of the city, so the hotel sits on one of Bangkok's main roads. The district mixes offices, shops and apartment blocks, with small food stalls and local businesses along the sois.
The skytrain is the easiest way to move around: the Ekkamai BTS Station is 400 m away and the Phra Khanong BTS Station 450 m, both on the Sukhumvit line. Phra Khanong Market is about 1 km away, and Phibun Wet Park, a green space, is 800 m from the hotel. For the sights of the old city, the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, on the Chao Phraya riverbank, are 11 km away and are best reached by taxi.
