Steps to Bangrak Beach

Steps to Bangrak Beach is in Bo Phut, a former fishing village on Koh Samui, and Hat Bang Rak Beach is 50 m away. Bo Phut is quieter than Chaweng, the island's busiest beach area, and its old streets have small shops and cafés rather than the crowds of the larger beaches.

Fisherman's Village, 2.8 km away, is a walking street of small shops, and Big Buddha, 1.5 km away, is a large seated Buddha statue that overlooks the coast. Wat Plai Laem, 1.8 km away, is known for its large Guanyin statue, and a short ride along the coast brings you to the rest of the island's beaches.

A day could start with a walk along Hat Bang Rak Beach, then move on to Wat Plai Laem and its Guanyin statue, and finish with a walk through Fisherman's Village in the evening. Samui Airport is the closest airport and is on the island itself, while Surat Thani Airport lies on the mainland, so a trip from there ends with a boat crossing. Most of the sights in this part of the island are close enough to reach on foot or by scooter, which keeps the day simple and leaves time for the beach at the end of it.
