Trang is a provincial town on the Andaman side of southern Thailand, a quieter base than the big resort islands and a place where daily life runs on local markets, old streets and the railway. Station Hotel stands on Satanee Road in the Tambol Tabtieng area, so the town centre is the natural place to start a day. Satanee Road runs through the town, with shops and food stalls close at hand.

The night market is 150 m from the hotel, and Trang Railway Station is 200 m away, the link for train journeys in and out of the town. The Trang Clock Tower, a landmark of the town, is 600 m away, and Pao Kong Shrine is a short detour on the way. Trang Airport is about 5.1 km away, and Krabi International Airport is further south at around 91.4 km.

A good day starts with a walk around the Trang Clock Tower and the streets nearby, followed by a stop at a local café or market stall. In the evening the night market is the obvious place to end the day, and it is close enough to walk back to the hotel afterwards, with stalls selling snacks and drinks until late.
