Location & what to see
Koh Phayam is a small island in the Andaman Sea, part of Ranong province in southern Thailand, and its draw is its beaches and an unhurried pace. Starlight Beach Resort has its own private beach, and the nearest beach, Ao Khao Kwai (North), is 300 m away. The island is a place for slow days by the water rather than a busy town, and the beaches are the main reason to come.
Ao Pai Beach, another stretch of sand on the island, is about 1 km from the resort, and the Hin Talu viewpoint lies 1.7 km away, a good spot for a view over the island. Ao Hin Khao is also close, a beach on the island's coast. Koh Phayam Pier, the island's ferry terminal, lies 2.8 km from the resort, and it is where boats from the mainland dock, so the pier is the point where the journey to the island ends.
