Wat Chaiwatthanaram, a Khmer-style temple with prang towers beside the Chao Phraya river, is 1.6 km away. Wat Mahathat, known for a Buddha head set among tree roots, is 2.2 km away, and Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the royal temple inside the old palace grounds, is 1.6 km away. The Chao Sam Phraya National Museum, with artefacts from the Ayutthaya period, is also nearby. Getting around is simplest by bicycle or tuk-tuk, and Ayutthaya Train Station is 3.4 km away, and trains run there from Bangkok.

A full day could begin at Wat Mahathat, move on to Wat Phra Sri Sanphet and Wat Chaiwatthanaram, and end with a visit to the Ayothaya Floating Market & Elephant Village, a little further out of town. Don Mueang International Airport is the nearest airport, 47.9 km from the property, and the old capital is a natural day trip for visitors staying in Bangkok.
