Nai Yang Beach, 3.2 km away, is another stretch of sand, and the Ni Yang Night Market offers food stalls and local goods in the evenings. Wat Mongkonwaram, a Buddhist temple in the Nai Yang area, sits in the same part of the coast, and the Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation works on sea turtle conservation along the shore. Getting around the island is easiest by car, scooter or taxi, since the beaches and temples are spread out.

A good day starts on the beach, and you can stop at the Phuket airport viewpoint, 900 m away, to watch planes take off and land. The Sunset viewpoint is a good place to end the afternoon, and the Ni Yang Night Market is a good place for dinner once the sun has set over the water.
