The rooms at Somerset Ekamai Bangkok range from a 17 m² single studio to 89 m² residences, with capacity from one to six guests. Most have a city view, and many bathrooms have a bathtub. The main roads have bars and restaurants in the evening, and the Sukhumvit road is one of the busiest arteries of the city.

Ekkamai BTS Station is 450 m from the hotel, on the Sukhumvit line of the skytrain, and it takes you to Siam and the central shopping districts. Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre, is 6.2 km away. The Bangkok Bus Terminal (Eastern), the bus station for eastern Thailand, is 550 m away, and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 18 km away. Jim Thompson House, a museum of Thai teak houses and Asian art, is reached by taxi.

For a day out, the Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest weekend markets in the city with clothes, food and crafts, is worth the trip. Back in the evening, the Soi 38 Nightmarket, 850 m from the hotel, is a short walk for street food. The old city temples, including the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, are further away, in the older part of town, and make a separate trip.
