Smile Residence

The rooms at Smile Residence include pool-view twin and double rooms, a street-view standard double and a 48 m² double with a king bed. Rooms can have air conditioning, a private bathroom with a shower and toiletries, a refrigerator and a balcony or terrace.

A 42 m² room sleeps up to five guests, and rooms can also have a desk, a closet and an in-room safe box. The pool-view rooms look out over the hotel's swimming pool area, and the twin rooms are a good fit for two travellers sharing.

Smile Residence has an outdoor swimming pool, an indoor swimming pool and a children's swimming pool, along with a fitness centre and a solarium. A 24-hour front desk, a shared lounge with a TV and a convenience store are on site, and there are shops, business facilities and luggage storage.

Parking is free on site, and valet parking is also offered. The restaurant serves a la carte, Asian and Continental breakfast, and a shared kitchen is available. Daily housekeeping, laundry service and dry cleaning are offered too.

Smile Residence sits on Patak Road in Chalong, a district of Phuket with a more local feel than the beach strips further away. It makes a practical base for seeing the island, because the main temple, the boat pier and several beaches are all a short drive away. Chalong also has a night market and a mix of local shops and food stalls.

The Big Buddha stands on the hills about 2.6 km away, and Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, one of the island's most revered temples, is 2.7 km away. Chalong Pier, 1.7 km from the hotel, is the ferry terminal for boat trips to the islands nearby. Kata Beach, a sandy bay with surf and beach restaurants, is 4.1 km away, and Patong Beach, known for its nightlife, is 8.6 km away. Phuket is linked to the mainland by bridge, and a car or taxi is the easiest way to reach the beaches; the hotel offers a taxi service and car hire.

A good day starts with the Big Buddha and the temple at Wat Chalong, followed by lunch near Chalong Pier and an afternoon on Kata Beach. In the evening, Patong Beach offers the island's well-known nightlife, for a livelier end to the day.
