The corridor is lined with hotels, shops and bars, and the area is known for its nightlife, with the Skytrain running above the main road.

The Nana and Asok BTS stations are both within 400 m, so the Skytrain is an easy way to reach other parts of the city. Asok is also an interchange with the MRT, Bangkok's underground line. Siam Paragon, a large shopping mall on Rama I Road, is 2.7 km away, and the Jim Thompson House, a museum dedicated to the Thai silk entrepreneur, is 3.4 km away. Soi Cowboy, a lively street of bars and nightlife, is closer still, at 500 m.

Benchakitti Forest Park, a green space with a lake and walking paths, is a calm place to spend an afternoon. Chatuchak Weekend Market, open on Saturdays and Sundays, is worth a weekend morning, and the temples and palaces of the old city are a longer trip across the river. The two airports, Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi, are further out and are best planned as a separate journey.
