Silver Sands Beach Resort

The rooms at Silver Sands Beach Resort range from 14 m² to 40 m², and they sleep up to three guests. Beds are king, queen, double and single, and several rooms pair a single bed with a king or queen bed.

Pool views come with some of the rooms, and others have a balcony or terrace. Most rooms have a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, and the rest have a shower. Several rooms have a flat-screen TV with satellite and cable channels, and the 24 m² room also has a refrigerator and an in-room safe box.

The spa offers sauna, massage and body scrub treatments, and the salon is also on site. The bar and room service cover drinks and meals, and the garden and the shared lounge and TV area give you places to relax. Free parking is on site, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. The garden gives a quiet place to sit outside the rooms.

For time on the water, the resort offers watersport equipment rentals, diving, snorkelling, fishing and tours, plus bicycle rental for reaching the other bays. Currency exchange, cash withdrawal, luggage storage, safety deposit boxes, laundry service, dry cleaning and daily housekeeping are also available, along with a shuttle service.

Sairee is one of the busiest beach areas on Ko Tao, a small island in the Gulf of Thailand. The area draws divers and travellers who want to be near the water, with dive shops, cafés and bars along the road. Many guests come for diving courses, and the beach area is compact enough to explore on foot.

Sairee Beach is around 100 m from the resort, and Haad Sairee is a short walk away. A viewpoint over Sairee Beach and Koh Nang Yuan is also nearby, and the bay of Ao Hat Sai Ri lies close to the resort. Koh Nang Yuan, a small group of islands reached by boat, is 2.6 km away and popular for snorkelling. Ao Tanote Beach is further from the resort, and a monument to King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) stands 900 m away.

A good day can begin with a snorkelling trip to Koh Nang Yuan, followed by a walk along Sairee Beach in the late afternoon. Many visitors rent a scooter to reach the bays further along the coast, and the ferry pier is 1.7 km from the resort. In the evening the beach road has street-food stalls and bars, and dive schools offer courses for beginners. The island is small, so most of the main spots can be reached within a short trip from the resort, whether on foot, by scooter or by boat from the pier.
