Siam Swana Hotel

Rooms at Siam Swana Hotel include superior rooms, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites, and a suite with a city view. Depending on the room, you can find air conditioning, a desk, an in-room safe box, an ironing facility, a hair dryer, a coffee and tea maker, a mini bar and a refrigerator.

The streets around it are busy with shopping centres, museums and small markets, and the BTS Skytrain runs through the district. The Darul Aman Mosque is also nearby, adding a place of worship to the mix of shops and museums.

Ratchathewi BTS Station is 150 m away, and the Skytrain links the area to the rest of central Bangkok. Jim Thompson House, the teak house museum of the American silk entrepreneur who revived Thai silk, is 350 m away. The Hua Chang pier on the Saen Saep canal is close by, and Khaosan Road, the backpacker street, is 3.6 km away. Further afield, the Grand Palace complex, home to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is 4.2 km away, and Wat Arun, on the Chao Phraya river, is 4.5 km away.

A day could start at Jim Thompson House, continue through the Siam shopping centres, and end at Asiatique The Riverfront on the Chao Phraya. The Chatuchak Weekend Market, a large weekend market, is a longer trip, so it is worth planning that visit for a weekend and keeping the rest of the day close to the hotel.
