Shangri-La Bangkok

Rooms at Shangri-La Bangkok have either a city view or a river view. The Krungthep Wing Deluxe Suite measures 84 m² and sleeps up to three guests, while the Shangri-La Wing Horizon Club 1 King offers a king bed for up to two guests and a city view.

The rooms come with bathrobes, a hair dryer and an electric kettle, and most have a bathtub and toiletries or a transfer shower. The bathrooms have showers, and the room set-ups include king beds, double beds and pairs of single beds. River-view rooms look over the Chao Phraya, and city-view rooms look over Bangkok.

The neighbourhood mixes quieter streets with busy markets, and the river, the old temples and the offices of Silom are all close to the hotel. Shophouses along the lanes sell street food and everyday goods, and the riverside piers link the area with the far bank of the Chao Phraya.

Saphan Taksin BTS Station is 250 m away, and the Assumption Cathedral is 300 m away, while Bang Rak Market is 150 m away. Wat Arun, the temple on the opposite bank, is across the river, and The Grand Palace is 4.1 km away, reached by taxi or by river ferry from the piers nearby. The boat piers on the hotel's side of the river also serve the old city on the far bank, so the two areas can be visited in one day.

A day could begin at Bang Rak Market, continue with a walk to the cathedral, and end with a river crossing to Wat Arun. The Grand Palace complex includes the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and the Asiatique riverfront complex is a good place to finish the evening, with its shops, restaurants and views over the water.
