The Jim Thompson House, a museum of Thai silk set in traditional teak houses, is 2.7 km from the hotel. The older side of the city lies further off: the Grand Palace is 6.6 km away, and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 22.1 km from the property.

A good day could start with a ride on the Skytrain to Siam for shopping, then a taxi across the city to the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, the riverside temple with its tall central tower. On weekends the Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the city's biggest markets, makes a full day out in its own right, and the Jim Thompson House offers a quieter stop between the shops and the old temples.
