Sairee Beach is one of the best-known stretches of sand on Ko Tao, a long strip lined with dive shops, cafés and small hotels. Savage Koh Tao is on Sairee Beach itself, so the sand is a short walk away, and the strip stays busy into the evening.
Within a short distance are the King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) Monument, 450 m away, and the Sairee Viewpoint, 1.3 km away, which looks over Sairee Beach and Koh Nang Yuan. Haad Ao Mae is another beach, 900 m away, and Ao Mae Hat bay is 1.1 km away. The ferry pier is 1.2 km away, and Ko Tao has no airport, so the last leg of any trip to the island is by boat.
For a full day, start with a walk up to the Sairee Viewpoint, then swim at Haad Ao Mae and take a snorkelling trip out to Koh Nang Yuan if the sea is calm.
