Jim Thompson House, the teak-built museum house, is also in central Bangkok, and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 28 km away.

A good day can begin with the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, then continue to Wat Arun across the river. In the evening, return to Khaosan Road for its street-food stalls and its lively atmosphere, or spend a day at the Chatuchak Weekend Market, which is open on weekends.
