Wat Pho, home to a reclining Buddha, and Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn across the river, sit close to the Grand Palace, which is 4.3 km away.

A good day could start with the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, then cross the river for Wat Arun and walk back towards Khaosan Road. For a weekend, the Chatuchak Weekend Market, 7.8 km away, is a sprawling market worth the trip. The streets around Sam Yan are also good for an evening walk over street food before heading back to the hotel.
