Sala Arun

Rooms at Sala Arun measure between 22 and 35 m² and look out over the city or the Chao Phraya River. Beds range from a double bed to a king bed, with a choice of set-ups in some rooms.

Rooms can have a private bathroom with a shower, bathrobes, toiletries and a hair dryer, along with a flat-screen TV, a seating area and wireless internet access. Rooms can also include a coffee and tea maker, a minibar, an in-room safe and a refrigerator.

Sala Arun stands in the Old City of Bangkok, on the Riverside near the Chao Phraya River, where royal palaces, temples and river piers sit close together. It is a base for walking to the classic sights of old Bangkok, with the river close at hand, rather than for the business districts. Most of the sights here are close enough to walk between, while the Chatuchak Weekend Market is a longer trip away.

Wat Arun is 300 m away, with its tall prang rising above the riverbank, and The Grand Palace is 550 m from the property. Wat Pho, home to the reclining Buddha, is 250 m away, and the Museum of Siam, which covers Thai history and culture, is 350 m away. The Sanam Chai MRT station is 450 m away for the metro, and river ferries leave from the Tha Tien pier, a short walk from the hotel.

A good day could start at Wat Pho and move on to the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which stands within the same complex. Later, take a river ferry over to Wat Arun, or head to Khaosan Road, the backpacker street with bars and guesthouses, before a drink on the rooftop bar.
