Along the river, the Oriental Pier is 900 m from the hotel, and it is the starting point for boats along the Chao Phraya, the river that runs through the city's old districts and past its best-known temples. Wat Arun and the Grand Palace, both in the old city across the river, are reached by river boat, while the Patpong Night Market is a short walk from the streets of Silom.

Many visitors plan their days around the river, so a good day starts with the Chao Phraya boats: from Oriental Pier you can head north along the river to the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, then return to Silom for dinner in the streets of the district.
