The temple at Wat Chalong and the Big Buddha can be visited together, and Kata and Karon make a quieter change of scene, with calmer water and fewer crowds than Patong. Phuket FantaSea, the large cultural show and theme park in Kathu, is a drive from the town and makes a good evening out. Phuket Town, the island's old centre with its Sino-Portuguese shophouses, is a drive away.
