Erawan Shrine, 950 m from the hotel, is a Hindu shrine that many visitors come to see, while Siam Paragon, 1.6 km away, is a large shopping centre. Jim Thompson House, a museum in a traditional teak home, is the former home of the American who helped revive Thailand's silk industry.

The Grand Palace, 6.3 km away, is the old city's best-known royal complex, and Wat Arun stands on the Chao Phraya river nearby. Suvarnabhumi Airport is 22.5 km away. A day could start with a walk to Erawan Shrine and a visit to Jim Thompson House, then a taxi or a boat along the Chao Phraya river to the temples of the old city, where the Grand Palace and Wat Arun are the best-known sights to see.
