Rock Hotel

All the rooms at Rock Hotel have a city view, air conditioning and soundproofing, along with free Wi-Fi and a shower. Each one sleeps up to two guests in a King bed, and the rooms measure between 20 and 25 m².

Some rooms have extras of their own, such as a balcony, a mini bar with a seating area, or blackout curtains. Toiletries, a flat-screen TV and free bottled water are found in several of the rooms, and every room has a shower. The Deluxe Room with Balcony also has carpeting and a desk, so the rooms differ in small details while keeping the same basic set-up.

Families have a few practical points to know: children aged 3 to 12 and infants aged 0 to 2 stay free using the existing bedding, a baby cot is available on request, and an extra bed carries an additional charge.

Rock Hotel is on Soi Ruamrudee, a side street off Witthayu Road in Pathumwan, central Bangkok, in a neighbourhood of hotels, shopping centres and several embassies. The area is well connected to the rest of the city and is a practical choice for both business trips and sightseeing, with the Skytrain and the Siam shopping district close by.

The Phloen Chit BTS station is 900 m from the hotel and the Nana BTS station is a little further along the same Sukhumvit line, so the Skytrain is an easy way to reach the shopping and nightlife districts. Jim Thompson House, a teak house museum with a collection of Thai art, lies 2.7 km away. The Grand Palace is 6.4 km from the hotel, and Wat Arun is across the Chao Phraya river from the palace area. For the airports, Don Mueang International Airport is 20.7 km away and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 22.4 km away.

A day could start at the Grand Palace and Wat Arun on the Chao Phraya riverbank, then continue to Jim Thompson House and the shopping around Siam. The Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest markets in the city, is open at weekends and is worth a morning.
