Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa

The rooms at Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa run from 51 m² guest rooms to a 130 m² one-bedroom villa with a private pool and a 215 m² two-bedroom villa with an ocean view. Several guest rooms overlook the garden, and the 215 m² villa has an ocean view.

Rooms can have air conditioning, an in-room safe, bathrobes, a hair dryer, toiletries and slippers, and free WiFi is available in all rooms. Some rooms have a whirlpool bathtub, and a ground-floor room has an adapted bath, a roll-in shower and an accessible toilet. Two ground-floor rooms have a terrace and a garden view.

The resort has an outdoor swimming pool, a spa with a sauna and massage treatments, and a fitness centre. Guests can use the private beach, and canoeing, snorkelling and non-motorised water sports are offered.

For families there is babysitting, a kids meal and a family room. Guests can eat at the restaurants, order food delivery or have room service, and there is a poolside bar and barbecue facilities.

Getting around is simpler with car hire, the shuttle service and free parking on site, and there is an airport transfer. Tours can be arranged, and a concierge is available. Laundry and dry cleaning services are also available, and so are currency exchange and luggage storage.

The resort is on Lamai Beach in Koh Samui, a long stretch of sand where the beach road has street-food stalls and massage shops. The sand is 50 m from the resort, so a morning swim is an easy start, and the setting suits visitors who want a beach holiday with the rest of the island still easy to visit.

Chaweng Noi Beach, a smaller bay in the Chaweng area, is 3.6 km away, and the rock formations of Hin Ta and Hin Yai, known as Grandma and Grandpa Rocks, are 3.5 km away along the coast. Lamai Night Market, an evening market, is close by, and Big Buddha, a large seated Buddha statue in Bophut, lies further around the coast. Wat Lamai, a temple in the village of Lamai, stands nearby, and Na Muang Waterfall, inland from the coast, makes a cooler change of pace from the beach.

Samui Airport is 8.8 km away, and the island is easiest to explore by car or scooter, since the sights are spread out. A good day could start with a swim at Lamai Beach, continue with a drive to Big Buddha and Fisherman's Village in Bophut, and end with the rock formations in the afternoon.
