Many guests come for the shops and malls, but the temples and museums of old Bangkok are also reachable from here.

Chit Lom BTS Station is 200 m from the hotel, so the Skytrain is the easiest way to reach the rest of the city. Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre with an aquarium and cinemas, is 900 m away, and the Erawan Shrine, a Hindu shrine at the Ratchaprasong intersection, is 250 m away. Further afield, the Grand Palace is 5.5 km away, and the Jim Thompson House, a museum set in traditional teakwood houses, is 1.7 km away.

A full day could start with the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, two of the best-known sights on the Chao Phraya river, and then return to the Siam area for shopping and dinner in the evening. For a weekend morning, the Chatuchak Weekend Market, a large market with thousands of stalls, is worth the trip.
