Ratana Hotel Sakdidet

The rooms at Ratana Hotel Sakdidet include a 65 m² Suite for up to three guests, a 55 m² Executive Suite City View with a bathtub, a 53 m² Junior Suite and a 42 m² Deluxe Room. Most rooms have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a mirror, toiletries and a walk-in shower, and some have a city or street view. Some of the standard rooms also have a balcony or terrace.

The remaining rooms are the 26 m² Standard Double or Twin Room, the 20 m² Standard Twin Room and the Superior Double or Twin Room. Beds include a king bed, single beds, or a combination of both, and some rooms offer a choice of bed set-ups. Every room sleeps between two and four guests.

Ratana Hotel Sakdidet is in Phuket Town, the island's capital, where Sino-Portuguese shophouses line the older streets and everyday markets sit alongside the shops. The area feels more local than the resort beaches further out, and it is a useful place to see the island's town life as well as its coastline.

The best-known sights are a drive away. Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is 5.1 km from the hotel, and it is one of the island's most important temples, with gilded chedis and busy shrine halls. The Big Buddha stands on a hill 8.3 km away. Patong Beach, the busiest beach resort on the island, is 10.2 km away, and Phuket FantaSea, a cultural theme park with evening shows, is 15 km away.

A good day could begin with a walk through the old streets of Phuket Town and a visit to the Peranakan Museum, then continue to Wat Chalong and the Big Buddha before an evening at Phuket FantaSea. Phuket International Airport (HKT) is 29.1 km away, which is worth allowing for on the first and last day. Patong and Karon are both reached by road, and a beach afternoon and a temple visit can be combined on the same day.
