Saphan Taksin and Charoen Nakhon BTS stations are both 850 m away, both on the Silom line. Si Phraya Pier (Gate 1) is close by for river boats, and Wat Arun, on the Thonburi bank across the river, is 3.6 km away. The Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha are 3.8 km away, while Jim Thompson House is a few kilometres off and Khaosan Road is a little farther.

A day could start with a boat across to Wat Arun and continue to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, the reclining Buddha temple. Later, Jim Thompson House shows Thai art and silk in its traditional teak houses. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is further north for a larger day out. Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports are 22.9 km and 25.5 km away, so allow extra time for the journey.
