Praya Palazzo Hotel stands on the Chao Phraya River in the Bangyeekhan area of Bangkok, where the river is the main route in. Guests are met at Phra Athit Pier and taken across to the hotel by boat, so the approach is part of the stay. The grounds include gardens, and several rooms look out over them or over the water. Bang Yi Khan MRT station is close by for travel across the city.

Several of the city's best-known sights are within a few kilometres: the Grand Palace is 1.8 km away, Wat Arun 2.5 km and Wat Phra Chetuphon, known for its giant reclining Buddha, 2.2 km. Khaosan Road is 850 m from the hotel, and Phra Sumen Fort and the riverside temple of Wat Daowaduengsaram are both nearby.

A day could combine temples on both banks with the evening street life of Khaosan Road, which is lined with bars and street-food stalls. Asiatique The Riverfront is a riverside area for dining and shopping, and the Chatuchak Weekend Market, 7 km away, is better suited to a separate day out. After a day out, guests can return to the hotel's gardens and its river setting, with the Chao Phraya at the door.
