A day here can start at Erawan Shrine, the Hindu shrine at the Ratchaprasong junction where offerings are made, before shopping in Siam and a visit to Jim Thompson House. The Grand Palace and Wat Arun make a full day in the old city across the river, while the Chatuchak Weekend Market is a longer trip north. The BTS line runs past the shopping streets nearby, so the centre of the city is easy to reach by skytrain, while the old city lies a longer journey across the river, and the nearby streets offer street-food stalls and small eateries in the evening.
