Phuengnang Homestay

Room beds include double, queen and king beds, and several rooms measure 25 m². Some rooms have air conditioning, a fan, a mini bar, a refrigerator and free bottled water, and one room has a balcony.

Several rooms sleep up to three guests, so small families and groups of three can stay together. Guests travelling with children can ask the homestay about a baby cot, and an extra bed can be added at an additional charge, depending on the room.

Phuengnang Homestay is in the Bangnahmphueng neighbourhood of Prapadang, in the South Thonburi area of Bangkok. The district is a residential mix of village lanes, canals and older houses, a different pace from the tourist streets around the Grand Palace, which is 12.1 km away.

The Bang Nam Pueng Floating Market is 650 m from the homestay, a canal-side market in the local neighbourhood. Bang Kachao, 2.5 km away, is a green area of orchards, paths and small canals that is popular for walking and cycling. The temple of Wat Bang Nam Phueng Nok is nearby, and Bearing BTS Station, 3.6 km away, is the nearest rail link for trips across the city. The Siam Fighting Fish Gallery, which focuses on the Siamese fighting fish, is also in the neighbourhood.

A good plan is to visit the floating market, then walk or cycle through Bang Kachao using the bicycle rental at the homestay, and return for a massage or a quiet hour in the garden. For a longer day, the Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of Bangkok's largest markets, is across the city, while Suvarnabhumi Airport, 19.3 km away, is the nearest airport, with an airport transfer available from the homestay.
