The island has no airport, so the last stage of the journey is by boat from the mainland.

A day could start at the Koh Phi Phi Viewpoint, then continue on foot to the bays of Ton Sai and Loh Dalum, with the Tsunami Building nearby, a monument left standing after the 2004 tsunami. Viking Cave, on a neighbouring island, can also be reached by boat as part of a day trip, though boat trips depend on the sea, which can be rough in the rainy months.
