Pratunam is one of the busiest commercial districts in central Bangkok, a dense grid of shopping malls, garment wholesalers and street stalls on the edge of the Siam and Ratchaprasong shopping area. The apartments sit among the malls rather than on a quiet residential street, which keeps the shops and the Skytrain close at hand. Jim Thompson House, the museum of Thai silk and art set in a cluster of traditional teak houses, is also reachable by taxi, and the lanes around the building fill with street-food stalls and traffic in the evening.

Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre that houses the Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World aquarium, is 500 m from the apartments, and the Siam BTS Station, where the Sukhumvit and Silom lines meet, is 650 m away. The Airport Rail Link Ratchaprarop Station is also close by, so the rail network is easy to use for getting around the city and out to the airports. MBK Center, a large shopping centre with many floors of stalls, is a short walk away too.

A good day could start with a walk to Wat Pathum Wanaram temple, 400 m away, a quiet Buddhist complex among the Pratunam lanes, before heading into the Siam shopping area. For the old city, the Grand Palace is about 5 km away, and Wat Arun on the Chao Phraya riverside is close to it; both can be reached by taxi.
