Mae Nam is a village on Koh Samui, built around a long beach where daily life moves at a gentle pace. Along the beach road there is a Chinese temple, a few small shops and food stalls, and an evening walking street that gives the area its lively side without the crowds of the busier resort areas of the island.

Maenam Beach is the closest stretch of sand, and Fisherman's Village in Bophut, 3.9 km away, is a walking street of shops and restaurants in an old fishing district. Big Buddha, on its hill 6.8 km away, makes a longer outing, while Na Muang Waterfall, 11.1 km away, is a forest waterfall in the island's interior. Samui Airport is 7.5 km away, and because the sights are spread across the island, a taxi, songthaew or rented scooter is the usual way to reach them.

A full day could start on Maenam Beach, continue on foot to the Maenam Walking Street in the evening, and include a visit to Big Buddha or Fisherman's Village on another day. The Chinese temple is close to the property, so it makes a simple first stop after a morning on the sand. Big Buddha and Na Muang Waterfall are better kept for a separate half day, since both lie well inland from the village.
