The area is best for travellers who want evenings out and plenty of places to eat, and other beaches such as Karon and Kata are a taxi ride away.

Around the town, Big Buddha Phuket is one of the island's landmarks: a large white statue on a hill, 8.2 km away, with wide views over the island. Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is 7.2 km away and is one of Phuket's most important Buddhist temples. Jungceylon Shopping Center is a large mall in the town, and Phuket FantaSea, a cultural theme park with an evening show, is also in the area.

A good day could take in Big Buddha and Wat Chalong, then return to Patong for the beach and the evening on Bangla Road. Phuket International Airport is 23.4 km from the hotel, and taxis and tuk-tuks are a common way to get around Patong, while a car gives more freedom to reach the temples and the beaches further out.
