The area suits those who want the sea, the shops and the evening streets all close together, and it stays lively both day and night.

Patong's shopping and market life is close at hand: Jungceylon Shopping Center and the Banzaan Fresh Market (Night) are both a few hundred metres away. Further afield, Wat Chalong is one of the most visited temples on Phuket, 6.7 km away, and the Big Buddha on the Nakkerd Hills is 7.4 km away. Phuket International Airport is 24.4 km away, and getting around the island usually means a car, a scooter or a taxi, since the southern beaches and temples are spread out.

A good day could start on Patong Beach in the morning, then drive south to Wat Chalong and the Big Buddha in the afternoon, and end with a walk along Bangla Road in the evening. Kata and Karon beaches are an easy drive further south for a change of scene.
