Phuket International Airport is the nearest airport for travellers arriving by air.

A good day from here is to combine Wat Chalong with the Big Buddha, two of the island's best-known sights, and return to Patong for the evening. Kata Beach and Karon Beach are both reachable by road for a day on the sand, and Phuket FantaSea, a cultural theme park with evening shows, is another choice for the night. Bangla Road and the night market are close enough for dinner once you are back in Patong.
