Patong is the busiest beach town on Phuket, with a lively bay, restaurants and nightlife. The villa is in the Patong area, and Tri Trang Beach is about 300 m away, while the main beach of Patong is 2 km off. The beaches, bars and markets of the town are close together, so much of the area can be reached on foot or with a short ride.

The neighbouring beaches of Karon and Kata lie along the coast a short drive away, and Freedom Beach is a smaller, quieter spot close to the town. Bangla Road is the street where Patong's nightlife gathers, and Jungceylon Shopping Center is a large mall with shops and restaurants. Big Buddha Phuket is a hilltop statue that overlooks much of the island, and Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is one of the most revered temples in Phuket.

A good day could start with a swim at Tri Trang Beach, continue to the Big Buddha on the hill, and end with dinner and a walk along Bangla Road. Phuket International Airport is 25.1 km away, so the first part of the trip is a road journey from the airport to Patong. Patong's night markets, such as the Dragon night market, are a short walk along the main road.
