The village has a relaxed pace, and its beach, temples and market are all within a few hundred metres of the property, so most sights are easy to reach.

Several sights are close by. The Tsunami Monument, a memorial to the 2004 tsunami, and Baan Kamala Temple are within a short walk, and the Pang Chang Kamala zoo is nearby. The Bang Wan waterfall lies in the hills behind the village, while the Big Buddha, a large statue on a hill 14.1 km away, is one of the island's best-known landmarks. Phuket International Airport (HKT) is 18.2 km away.

A good day could start on Kamala Beach, continue with a visit to the Big Buddha in the hills, and end at the Kamala Night Market, a short walk from the village centre. For a livelier evening, Patong Beach is the busier resort on the island and is the place to go after dark. Kamala stays quieter in the evenings than Patong.
