Palm Sweet Resort

Rooms at Palm Sweet Resort range from economy rooms of 25 m² to suites and family rooms of up to 40 m². Several have a view of the pool, others face the gardens, and the Family Room Pool Side sleeps up to four guests. Beds range from single and double beds to king-size beds.

Across the rooms, guests can find air conditioning, a desk, toiletries and a shower, and in several rooms a flat-screen TV, a bathtub, or a balcony or terrace. Bathrobes, a hair dryer and an electric kettle are available in some rooms, and free wired internet is part of the in-room equipment.

The resort has an outdoor swimming pool and an indoor swimming pool, plus a children's swimming pool, with gardens and a terrace around the grounds. Guests can eat at the on-site restaurant or the coffee shop, and there is a kitchen and a shared kitchen as well as 24-hour room service.

Palm Sweet Resort sits in Bangluk, in the Muang district of Chumphon, a provincial town on the Gulf of Thailand coast of southern Thailand. The town is a provincial centre rather than a resort strip, with markets, temples and a railway station that give it character. It works well for travellers who want town life close at hand and a garden setting to return to after a day out.

Some of the town's sights are within a few kilometres. The Chumphon train station is 1.5 km away, and the Locomotive No.235 monument stands nearby. The Chumphon Night Market, 1.9 km from the resort, is where you can browse local food and goods in the evening, and the Wat Samkeo church is 2.2 km away. Wat Sala Loi, a pagoda 3.9 km away, is one of the temples worth a visit, and the Chumphon National Museum and Arphakorn Kiattiwong Park are also in the area.

Chumphon is also a departure point for boats to the island of Ko Tao, so the town works well as a stop before or after an island trip. Ko Tao is reached by boat only, so the last part of that journey is by sea. For a day out, the morning can be spent around the temples and the museum, and the evening at the night market.
