The closest rail link is Phrom Phong BTS station, about 1,000 m away, and Benchasiri Park is 1.1 km off, a green space nearby where you can take a stroll. Siam Paragon, a large shopping mall with an aquarium and cinemas, is 4.2 km away. Jim Thompson House, a museum of Thai silk set in traditional teak houses, is 5 km away.

A good day out combines the shops at Siam Paragon with a walk through Benchasiri Park, then a trip to the Old City for the Grand Palace, 8.9 km away, and Wat Arun, which stands across the river. The BTS skytrain runs past Phrom Phong and links several of these sights, while the Chatuchak Weekend Market is a separate outing, open at weekends only. The market has thousands of stalls, so allow most of a morning for it and bring water for the walk between the sections.
