Rassada Pier is 200 m away on the waterfront, where boats leave for trips to the islands. Phuket Old Town is 2.8 km away, with its Sino-Portuguese streets and museums, and Wat Khosit Wiharn, a Buddhist temple, is 1.5 km away. The lanes and colourful old buildings of the Old Town are best explored at a slow pace, with stops at the museums along the way.

A good day could start in the Old Town and end at the Sunday night market at Lard Yai. For a beach day, Patong Beach is 11.4 km away, and the hilltop Big Buddha, at 13.2 km, makes a separate outing. Patong and the Big Buddha are best planned as separate outings, with the Old Town or the Sunday market left for the evening.
