The best-known sights are within a short distance. Khaosan Road is 450 m from the hotel, and the Grand Palace lies 800 m away, with the Temple of the Emerald Buddha inside its walls. Wat Arun, the temple on the bank of the Chao Phraya river, is 1.5 km away, and Wat Phra Chetuphon, the temple of the Reclining Buddha, is 1 km away. The Sam Yot MRT station is 1.1 km away, for trips further into the city.

A good day starts at the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, then continues across the river by ferry from Tha Tien pier to Wat Arun. The Bangkok National Museum, with its collection of Thai art and history, is in the same district, and the Jim Thompson House, a museum in a traditional Thai-style house, makes a quieter stop later in the day.
