The Skytrain is the easiest way to reach the shopping districts from here. Phloen Chit BTS station is 650 m away and Ratchadamri BTS station 750 m, and Siam Paragon is 1.6 km away, with the MBK Center 1.9 km away and Jim Thompson House 2.3 km. Jim Thompson House is a museum of traditional teak houses, while the MBK Center is known for its bargain stalls and electronics. Lumphini Park, a large green space with a lake, is also nearby.

A good day out starts with a morning in Lumphini Park, followed by a Skytrain ride to Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest markets in Bangkok, which is open mainly at weekends. In the afternoon, the Siam shopping centres and Jim Thompson House offer a different pace, and the temples of Rattanakosin, such as the Grand Palace, are a longer trip across the river.
